My name is Gilberto Maia but you can call me Gil. I was born in Porto in April 18th, 1985 in a spring afternoon and from that moment I decided that when I grow up, I wanted to draw. I drew so much that I became an architect. But because I draw so much, I forgot that there were many colors to discover. And so, one by one, I was adding colorful brushes to white papers that filled my room. But at the same time that I released so many papers, there were still cooming new and better ideas, dreams, desires and memories of the world that existed or are still to be invented.
In addition to drawing, painting and architect, I like comics, movies, traveling, swimming in the infinity of the Atlantic, read a lot, play with dogs, see exhibitions and different things. Of course I love to eat cakes in the spring, caramel ice cream in summer, step leaves in autumn, and drink hot chocolate in winter.
Chamo-me Gilberto Maia mas podem-me tratar por Gil. Nasci na cidade do Porto a 18 de Abril de 1985 numa tarde de Primavera e desde esse momento decidi que, quando fosse grande, queria desenhar. Tanto desenhei que me tornei arquitecto. Mas de tanto desenhar, esqueci-me que havia muitas cores para descobrir. E assim, uma a uma, fui acrescentando pinceladas coloridas aos papeis brancos que enchiam o meu quarto. Mas ao mesmo tempo que liberto tanta papelada, vão nascendo novas e melhores ideias, sonhos, desejos e memórias de mundo que existiram ou que aindo estão por inventar.
Além de desenhar, pintar e arquitectar, gosto de banda desenhada, ir ao cinema, viajar, nadar no infinito do oceano Atlântico, ler muito, brincar com cães, ver exposições e coisas diferentes. E claro que adoro comer doces na Primavera, gelados de caramelo no Verão, pisar folhas secas no Outono, e beber chocolate quente no Inverno.
