O concurso "Leitores de todos os tamanhos" foi uma iniciativa lançada pela Bertrand Livreiros, que tinha como objectivo criar a nova mascote do grupo editorial criado em 1732. Infelizmente, o Bernardo foi uma das 275 personagens que não ganharam o primeiro lugar, mas tem um lugar muito especial neste blog.

The contest "Readers of all sizes" was initiated by Bertrand Booksellers, which had the aim of creating the new mascot of the publishing group, established in 1732. Unfortunately, Bernard was one of the 275 characters that didn't win the first place, but has a very special place in this blog.

Estas sardinhas foram pescadas para o concurso Festas de Lisboa 2012. Infelizmente não foram seleccionadas para as 300 melhores entre as 3526 propostas, mas ainda assim, divertiram-se imenso! E para o ano prometem voltar com mais amigas...


These sardines were fished for the contest Festas de Lisboa 2012. Unfortunately they were not selected for the top 300 among the 3526 sardines, but still they had a great time! And they promise to be back with more friends next year...

Não foi fácil, mas aqui está o resto das 36 ilustrações pensadas desde o final do ano passado. Todas elas com uma história por contar... Mas para desfazer um pouco o mistério, posso falar um pouco do Duarte e da sua arte. O Duarte é um menino artista, traquina e malandro que, sempre que pode, lá faz um quadro nas paredes de casa com qualquer lápis de cera ou marcador. Não é preciso dizer que os pais não gostam muito da ideia, mas toda a gente sabe que os artistas são uns incompreendidos, por isso, de vez em quando, lá deixam o Duarte dar asas à sua arte.

It was not easy, but here it is the rest of the 36 illustrations planned since the end of last year. All of them have a story to tell ... But to reveal a little the mystery, I can talk a little about Duarte and his art. Duarte is a artist child who, whenever he can, paints on the walls of his home with crayons or markers. It's not necessary to say that his parents don't like this idea, but everyone knows that artists are a little misunderstood, so from time to time, they let Duarte to spread the wings of his art.
